Dichotomy
I tend to have episodes where I write a lot and remain fixated on particular themes. In 2006 a big one for me was control. It was a time of desire and longing, change and chaos for me, but like most difficult things – a period of growth. Poem first written 15/2/06 and revised 3/8/06

I’ve lied to you
The same way that I always do
This is the last smile
That I’ll fake for the sake of being with you

The sacrifice of hiding in a lie
Everything has to end

I’ve resisted your smile
I hold to the certainty it all means nought

Envelope, enfold me

Kiss my eyelids, blind me
You drown my resistance
But also leave a bad taste in my mouth
Speak to me, deafen me
Whisper love, break my heart
I want to leave a better world than this
Bending me, you’ve changed me
You try to take me down
With the false pretence you hold me sacred
You put my soul at ease
With words I can’t describe,
Giving me a sense of dichotomy
I have my force of will
I don’t care what you say
I am certain this will all fall away

Ooh, I am not surprised. I wrote this on LP and would welcome your thoughts. You have such a musical personality, I’ve not been able to think of who or which band you most remind me of as yet, but I’m giving it some background thought and I know it will come to me.
