Earlier this year I announced Ode to Fight Club being featured in the Red Room Company’s Disappearing Project – the first time I have had a poem published in an iPhone/Android App :)
And here’s some more news on that project… The Red Room Company are seeking new poetry all around Australia.
Thanks to an incredible show of support by its friends, The Red Room Company raised over $5000 to map Australia with poetry. Now, they are seeking poems about places all around Australia for a nation-wide edition of our innovative new app, The Disappearing.
They’re looking for new poems that explore everything that vanishes: buildings, ideas, people and places. To participate, send them a new poem about something in the process of disappearing, and tell them about the place that inspired it.
They pay $80 for every poem published.
Send a single word document with:
- a previously unpublished poem;
- a 50-100 word description of the place that inspired it;
- a gps location, address or the name of that place;
- a short bio and contact details.
Because Sydney is already extensively mapped, poems about places elsewhere in Australia receive preference. Email submissions to firstname.lastname@example.org
Entries close on Sunday, October 26, 2012 (AEST).
