Music sometimes mirrors the soul
Quite often, lately, I have been musing on the solace I gain from musical inspiration.
No matter how painful or joyous the subject, it is like we all have songs that can take us to places. For this, I am always grateful.
Yet it is sometimes also the case that one of our most-loved bands or singers will also serve to remind us of friends.
For Lisa – I find her like the sublime Nina Simone.
For Cassidy – often it is the awesome and inspiring Linkin Park who comes to mind.
Some examples of his art where this has happened
Crawling in my skin – no points for guessing where this one takes me!
Both Tear It Out and Broken remind me of Bleed it out – lyrics also
And some links to my own Linkin Park inspired writing
Dichotomy takes me to Pushing me away
I’d be really interested to hear where this is the case for anyone else too

I often write listening to the same song or instrumental piece over and over…... it is a little strange I guess I can be listening to the words in a song and be writing something completely different at the same time…Go figure huh!! Hmmm maybe I am being and left and right brain operational at the same time…..Ohhhh Hope I don’t blow a fuse…. hmmm could be too late… ;O) XX

KS – hehehe – you can always make me smile and laugh sweet friend!

I do find that even when something isn’t inspired by a piece of music, I often relate it to something musical, so I am in agreement with you. I believe I’m flattered by what you see in my work/me. xoxo

Hey Cass, flattery was not the intent, but always happy if you’re smiling my friend! It is so true that music is with us always – which is a great thing. I’ve also done the equivalent of tagging you here (in case you haven’t read it yet!)
