The doors in historic Charleston South Carolina vary is size, shape, color and style. This montage provides a glimpse at this variety, from greek to colonial style.

The Charleston Preservation Society requires that all repairs to a pre-existing home can only “restore” the home, allowing no changes to the style. The doors that provide the entrance to these grand homes are reflections of this restoration.

The photos of this montage were all taken with a Nikon D700 using a 24-70mm aspherical lens. Aperture was used to enhance the quality of the photos, and Photoshop was used to place the doors in the montage.

I was a professional photographer, now turned back to amateur so I can focus once again on the joy and fun of photography, rather than photography as work. I always looki for new and innovative techniques to push the envelop on novel photographic results.
