An excerpt from a letter to Nina, Kristians inspiration for this painting
“Hi nina

… as my poppa was dying recently, i decided to whipp up another painting based on your imagery. there was a shot of hope love day, in a body of water, leaning back, with daisies in her hair. i was so breath taken by this picture, i just had to do something with it.
…as i painted it, not to my knowledge, my mum was cutting daisys off a daisy bush at my grandparents house. We were channeling, and somehow you and the model were involved. My Mum now thinks the model is an angel, sent down, as a sign that Poppa is resting now.”

This painting was a finalist in the famous australian exhibition Hans Hysen Prize, for Landscape
