A shot of a Barclay 0-4-0 WD42 Diesel Locomotive in number 3 slip at Chatham Dockyard in Kent . These engines were designed by A Barclay & Sons of Kilmarnock Scotland,20 were built between 1941-42 and used by the Royal Engineer Transportation units in WW2 . This engine was built in 1941 and used in the run up to D-Day ( operation overlord ) and was working in France by August 1944.
