Lily and our (small) multicultural world.
The people I’ve spoken to, this last week, in the Tap Gallery, corner Burton and Palmer Street, Darlinghurst.
Lily and our (small) multicultural world. belongs to the following groups:
Dutch Touch and The Dutch ConnectionThese Aussie landscapes are by Lilly Oen and on display, in the Tap Gallery, corner Palmer and Burton Street, Darlinghurst.
I am about to take down my exhibition, in the Tap Gallery, after an interesting week of exhibiting there, to celebrate my birthday.
At one stage, Lilly came into the office, where I was just checking something on their computer and asked if I was Dutch.
She’d noticed the Dutch touch to my 62 paintings.
Turns out she came from Rotterdam. Her mother is Dutch.
I read elsewhere, on the www, that Lily was born in Indonesia and has Chinese heritage, as well.
Day before yesterday. Lilly and I were walking through the gallery, singing the typical Dutch (sentimental) songs, that Dutch people call: smartlappen.
We both obviously knew a lot of them.
Yesterday, my last full day, before my paintings come down, today, I had a last good look at Lilly’s work.
She told me that Beatrix, the queen of the Netherlands, has one of her paintings!!

She seems such a nice person, Sunil. It’s a pity, it’s all over for me now (for a while) as far as exhibiting, at the Tap Gallery is concerned.
