From about the summer of 1956/57, my parents and I (I was 13.) and our friends, Gerda, Gerard and daughter, Netty van Hoorn, spent Friday evenings, at the home of friends, in this street, because they had television!!!
So there, we saw 77 Sunset Strip, Sergeant Bilko, etc.. crowded in the smallish front room.
There is no reason why I could not have gone back there before, but today I was invited to the “Jones Garden”, in Paddington, open to visitors, as part of the Open Garden Scheme.
But there was a dual purpose. I was also there to hear more about the launch of the book, " The Lost Sister of Groningen ", by Nell Jones.
I look forward to attending that event and to also meet up again, on the last weekend of March, at the Rembrandt Club’s annual Dutch Fair, in St Marys, where Nell Jones will be joining D.A.C.C. Board members, at our stand/stall.
