Photographing, painting or drawing the nude in a natural setting,
has now almost become a cause, to me…....
...an idea / suggestion, that I want to put to you, here. --
This is a friend of a friend, (now back in Europe), relaxing by the Wollondilly River, at River Island. I put this here to get your attention!
My suggestion: a day, spent at River Island Naturist Retreat, west of Mittagong, NSW, painting the nude, in this clothes-optional, natural setting. --
My motivation, for suggesting this:
In the summer of 1992, I skinny-dipped for the first time, at the far end of Conjola Beach, because, after walking the length of the beach, on a (very) warm day, I saw a couple, in the distance, jump into the surf.
If they could do it, so could I.
It was enjoyable. I joined the ANF supporters group and the Free Beach Association of NSW and this naturist retreat.
I now look after their website. --
So, when I’ve often seen photographs, on RedBubble, of the nude, in settings where they are in some abandoned building, highlighting the contrast, the beauty of the body, contrasted with the ugliness of decaying structures, and seen reactions, usually lauding the daring, the beauty of it all, I have wanted to protest: But it doesn’t look natural!
So, how about arranging a day, at River Island? Either a photography -day or and art session?
The resort, beside the Wollondilly River is clothes-optional. So whether you get into the spirit of it all yourself or whether you prefer to stay textile, while, painting, drawing or photographing, would be up to you. --
For the artists, I’m particularly thinking of a Rolf Harris-program style of approach. Observe the model, in a natural setting. Plan the painting. Take the photo(s). Take them back to home or studio and work on them.
This is the website that I look after.
I’ve been wandering around the place there, every so often, since summer, 1992.
