No hat ever fits, except.......

....this busby that I wore for Mrs Else Brandman, my accordion teacher.

At her annual concert, I played:
Soldiers of the Queen wearing this costume.
And so it’s time to parade it again, just after Easter,
for the Artrageous Challenge.

In the playground, where we had to make the pupils wear hats, they would complain that I did not wear one.
/I’d explain for the umptieth time, that my head’s too big.

The only other time I ever wore one, was in preschool, in Gouda.
My mother made it out of paper and white cardboard and, I had to line up with the other boys who also had to look like chefs, stirring with wooden ladles.
...
I have no picture of that. :(

...

...
Oooooops, while searching for the photo of me playing: Soldiers of the Queen (GLARING at the audience!!), I’ve run into two other pictures of me wearing something on my head!

...

...
AND another!

...
And you’ve seen this one before, too!

...
But I can’t find the one of me actually playing that song. It was in the RSL club, Maroubra Junction.

I’ve just made a great contact with an ex-pupil, from 1967, when he was in my class which I took over from the principal, for the last part of that year. Like so many others, one of the first things he mentioned was that he remembers me as the teacher who played the piano-accordion!

Ha! Ha! I just found the picture I was looking for. Not in my computer but googled it and found it on the Dutch Hobby website.
