Watch out, you’ll get a nosebleed, someone joked as they directed me to the Vista Room, function centre, of the A.J.C., Randwick, where the Maroubra Bay High School 50 year reunion was being held.

Apart from sweeps, in the Melbourne Cup, at work (school), this was the first time in my life I had bets, on races!

Had no idea what I was doing or how to know if I’d won anything.

Despite good advice, I hadn’t!

My strategy was: thoroughly enjoy taking photos and avoid the fine alcohol. Or getting a fine because of alcohol. As it turned out, I COULD have had a lift home. Ah well, next time!

It was the fellow Maroubra Bay High School ex-students, I was there to meet.
And I believe that we were all agreed that, in spite of the spread of ages between those of us who left the school in 1959 and those who were still there in 1990, everyone had a fantastic time!

For me, a view of the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney, that I’d never seen before, despite passing by for the last 52 years.

In my first little v.w., I must have driven past this area, hundreds of times. I was attracted by a certain address, in nearby Lang Road. (In a way related to this Maroubra Bay High School reunion.)

By the way, I was given some good tips but…...it’s still a race in which any horse can win.
