a smooth and pleasant day.
Began by watching tv-spiderman and jigsaw something. They were wearing raincoats and using their umbrella’s. Spiderman was an old cartoon version-love the clunky sound effects!
the trauma of the tv going off lasted only seconds. Brekky was a ‘pear please’. We played indoors for awhile, til the cleaners went. Mr F was keen to do some digging, and began digging, getting v dirty, so we changed tack, since rain had stopped, and went to the ‘forest’.
It really is only two streets up the road, but Mr F finds so much joy in everything. We made it to the tennis courts by running a lot. ’Let’s go!’ He remembered where we saw dogs ONCE, by saying the dogs are gone again. Astounds me. Walking down stairs is a lot of ‘I do it myself’.
There is an awesome play set near the courts, amoungst a lush rain forest. It did begin to rain again lightly. But Mr F was not to be deterred. He got a very wet bottom sliding down the big slide, loved the telescope and pretend driving wheel.
I encouraged leaving because I thought it might rain more heavily, but it didn’t thank goodness- just light spattering occiasionally. Mr F remembered morning tv, and picked up sticks, pretending they were umbrellas. There were discoveries at every turn. Trees to ‘climb?’ and poles to attempt-maybe one day!
Digging and construction gained the usual sense of fascination.
Bed was on the agenda-so set by himself. He elected toast for lunch…‘with a bit of jam?’ I negotiated, after beginning with peanut butter, and he decided jam. ‘NO-a BIG bit of jam’.
He got into the bath eventually-it was a bit hot. Tipped his head forward and made ‘rain’ because his hair got wet, then scared himself by doing it again, and going a bit under water (and me too!) Live and learn. He didn’t actually go all the way under, he just tipped his head forward AND his face. You know the little man is tired, because he started saying, ‘I sleep in the bath’, leaning back and getting comfortable. But no, no, no.
After teething brushing/biting, we read MR Dizzy. Mr F slept within minutes, soundly, as he does. And I uploaded another dozen (with a zero at the end) or so photos. And here we are!
