This temple is in the town of Nyaung U, in the historical area of Bagan, Burma. It was built in 1102 during the reign of King Kyanzittha. We caught it as the sun set, the light reflecting off the gold leaf stupa.

Much, much better than my shots of Burma. I guess that is why I have posted them! It is a fascinating sad place (and for a bit of political comment Aung San Suu Ky must rank as one of the great leaders – I do pray she see triumphs on this earth)
