Al Benge comments on his drawing of Oriental Bay – " The Southern Walkway track which meanders up Mt.Victoria offered some excellent views of the harbour and Oriental Bay in particular. In this view, looking North, I have tried to capture in pen and ink, some of the high rise buildings and expensive real estate that make up this well populated corner of New Zealand. Instead of drawing the individual leaves of foliage – too time consuming – I used a free flowing fairly casual sketching technique to convey the impression of trees and bushes.
