If you visit Windsor in England, you cannot miss seeing the statue of Queen Victoria in front of the castle. Artist Al Benge, on holiday from Queensland made a sketch of the scene when he was there.
“I was lucky when I visited Windsor that the weather was fine – and this meant I could sketch at my leisure some of the wonderful old buildings and statues that are part of this tourist spot. Queen Victoria has been keeping an eye on things in this town for a number of years, and she must surely have a few tales to tell. Tourists from all over the world come here and just about everyone passes this point in town. There are lots of seats to relax on, just look at the passing scenery, or as in my case, do a sketch. The palace guards also march past occasionally with splashes of colour and impressive marching – I must go back someday and record the guards too in my sketchbook !”
