Original pen and ink artwork of old building in Ravenswood Queensland by artist Al Benge. The vivid colours of the outback are combined with acrylics and a splatter technique to produce a different and unusual line drawing.

Love the spatter texture. Is the right colour for Queensland dirt.
Thank you for your comment. I had to try and convey the rugged nature of the outback terrain, and splatter seemed to be an appropriate method to describe it !
I think I like this most among all your great pieces. Texture, colour, movement … love it!
Wow! On second thoughts this is definitely my favourite!! It has a great mood about it…… Love the freedom in the splatters.
Thanks for your feedback on my Ravenswood composition. I do enjoy using the splatter technique – even if sometimes I get more splatter on myself than on the painting. Ravenswood is a great town for old buildings, with an outback feel about them that appeals to artists.
