I’m a Professional Photographer based in Sydney, Australia and my photographs are mainly shot to capture all the action in the sporting world.
Now this is skateboardin’!!!!!I really like the angles in this image and how they add such power to the scene.Well composed, exposed and processed, (although the skin tones appear a bit red on my monitor), with a nice sharp focus and softly blurred background. The colours and light give this photograph a great lift.By catching the rider’s expression as well as you have I can feel the tension and concentration and am left wondering if he made it in on piece.
Thanks Dennis, I value your comment. Interesting about the skin tones on your monitor. I assume your monitor is calibrated as is mine. Then again he could have been running hot (probably about the 5th time down the mountain) or as this corner was the last one and very dangerous to make at travelling about 90kph. LOL..

Thanks Ron, much appreciated.
Every thing Dennis said and more Bill. An intense moment captured beautifully.
lol, thanks Barkey, very intense indeed but lets face it… he is the World Champion. Hahaha
Awesome capture Bill, nice sharp focus and great detail in the main subject in the image, lovely use of aperture to create a lovely soft bokeh front and back to draws attention to the main image in the photo.
Thanks David, much appreciated. It all came together with this shot and I’m loving the 400mm f/2.8
fantastic bill ,i luv his concentration!!
Thanks Steve, yeah well, he is the world champion…lol
Perfect action capture Bill
Some seriuos skateboarding here and at Bathurst too, great capture with the 400mm Bill
Hey Rob, sorry about the real late reply. Yeah, the 400mm works a treat here. Bathurst will be on again later this year. Thanks.
Hi Bill – I know this has been here for a while and I have seen it a few times, but it has just struck me how much I like this. Everything about it draws your eyes to his face, but there is just enough other stuff going on that you move away and are then drawn back – very dynamic to suit the sport!
Hey Brian, Thanks for passing by and commenting. Haven’t see you guys for ages, hope you’re well. Cheers.
