Hello World!

Yet again, Wednesday is upon us. Every seven days I’ll take a gander at the recent uploads of tees and find one that catches my eye, then post it here, write about it and even link to it from my Twitter account.

The winning shirt will be on sale at a 0% markup for the week, and any sales generated in that time will get the artist a 60% margin in RedBubble vouchers.

They will also receive a special commemorative certificate and of course fame, not the sort that sends you crazy though.

T-Shirt of the Week Champion – Week Three – blakeus

This is a beautiful illustration, it reminds me of a Ronald Searle drawing, and that’s no mean feat. My memory is not what it once was and he was a huge talent. Look at Josie dancing there, her hair not pestered by trifles like ‘gravity’, trailing her stuffed companion and a balloon that thinks it’s a flower. Or vice versa. This has a timeless quality that makes you think of summer and your childhood, when you didn’t have to worry about mortgages. I’ve no idea where the island it, perhaps it’s in her head, or her pocket.

You should illustrate some children’s books I reckon.
