Mr Baxter's Picture of the Week

Hello World!
Welcome to Mr Baxter’s Picture of the Week. Each and every Monday I shall peruse the last seven days of images and find one that catches my eye, then post it here, write about it and even link to it from my Twitter account.
The winning image will be on sale at a 0% markup for the week, and any sales generated in that time will get the artist double the earnings in RedBubble vouchers at a standard 30% markup.
They will also receive a special commemorative certificate and of course exposure, not the sort that gets you arrested though.

Would you just look at this marvellous collection of black and white pixels, even devoid of colour the story is so strong. And none of it is even in the picture, it’s really all about what’s happening outside the door. Is there a fight going on? Some dancing goats? A Formula 1 pit stop? We’ve no idea, but it draws us in and tears at our minds. She’s Jules Winnfield staring into Marsellus Wallace’s briefcase. Books have been written on this unseen.
It’s emotive and silent, but leaves me clawing for answers.
Good Work AspenRock.

The posture of the little girl suggests, to me at least, resigned waiting, for something she is not really looking forward to but . . . it’s coming! The over-exposed area outside the door gives the impression of lightness which contrasts sharply with the girl’s posture. This image is a very nice study of contrasts – I like the rustic spareness of the setting in the room, and the over-exposed area and the heavilyshadowed area immediatley to the right. Lovely choice, Mr Baxter.

I think you’re on the money there Clarkey. It really is quite masterful.

So funny that I read this when I just watched Pulp Fiction (again!) last night. And I watched the extra features about the case. It intrigued me that even Quentin Tarantino says he has no idea or concept of what’s in the case. Great way to keep the mystery alive.
People I always ask say it’s gold.. but then if it were gold on that level to create such a ‘glow’ then they’d be dragging it along the ground from the weight.
I like the theory of it being the diamonds from Reservoir Dogs.
My theory… it’s a Logie Award inside the case :D LOL!!
I love looking at the story of Pulp Fiction on a deeper level.. especially when it comes to Jules and Vincent! Coolest Movie ever!! Eric Scholtz plays the role of his life!! Could watch it over.. and over.. and over.
You’re right .. don’t we all love the thrill of the mystery.. .the what if’s… the what’s “really” there. I know I definitely do!! :D
