in indian society, rag-pickers are considered as untouchables, outcasts.

rag-pickers are doing an important job. they recycle plastics. without their work, india would suffocate in its plastic waste.

since the start of our children’s education programme, the community members seem to have regained their dignity.

‘at the ragpickers’ community: like mother like daughter’ belongs to this series:

nicely done ursa, and great notes too

  • thank you carol. but here i think it is the eyes that carry the message. like mother like daughter. daughter even more intelligent and questioning. what a little delicate beauty! and stongminded. that’s what she needs to be!

  • hey jen.
    thank you so much.
i am really excited about this feature.
i think it is well deserved.
not for the photographic effort, which is pretty standard journalistic craft. but for the models and the story they carry. and for the political struggle for human rights they represent.
    :-)))
(and it’s fun to have your nice banner flashing in this thread) ;-))
