Footbridge and Waterfall at Ott's Garden Center - Schwenskville PA by

This is in what I call the waterfall room at Ott’s Garden Center in Schwenskville, Pennsylvania. The footbridge, lined by rails of tree branches, takes the visitor over a little stream, under an arch, and to another room. There is a walkway you can take that goes up and over the path and looks down on the pool. Tropical plants abound, including many ferns, mosses, bird-of-paradise plants, etc. There is even a turtle in the pool that pulls out onto a rock for a bit of sun; it is shy, however, and generally plops back into the water and disappears as people approach.

A texture from Shadowhouse Creations was used on this image.

I love nature, science, poetry, prose, art, music – you name it! Now that I’m retired, time is mine to spend as I wish (pretty much), and I wish to take pictures of our natural world.

Bringing the outdoors in for others to see, especially those who may not get the opportunity to wander next to a pond, fish at the beach, or tramp in the woods, is a pleasure. I hope to build a window to the wonders of nature that fill our everyday lives.

This is delightful! The inspired use of a framing which is like splashing water perfectly sets off the scene.

  • Thank you for noticing the framing and how it is like splashing water! Lovely comment:>) Thanks, as well, for the fave – much appreciated!
