This tangle of battered and fraying nylon rope washed ashore and took it’s place among the other pieces of plastic litter on the beach.

I’ve used a texture from TextureKing to enhance the image.

At least these pieces aren’t in the ocean gyres. If you’re interested in the plastic floating in our oceans and the currents that are capturing them, check out these sites:

Dedicated to those who are trying to make our oceans healthy once again.

A texture called Aqua Stone from Textureking was used to harden the colors and mood.

I love nature, science, poetry, prose, art, music – you name it! Now that I’m retired, time is mine to spend as I wish (pretty much), and I wish to take pictures of our natural world.

Bringing the outdoors in for others to see, especially those who may not get the opportunity to wander next to a pond, fish at the beach, or tramp in the woods, is a pleasure. I hope to build a window to the wonders of nature that fill our everyday lives.

I love images like this! Living on the gulf as I do, the ocean is a large part of my life! There is so much junk in our waters. Thank you for caring with this reminder! Nicely done!:)…Jerry

  • The oceans and seas of the world were once thought to be an endless research, so vast nothing could affect them. Sadly, we are proven dreadfully wrong. The gyres are horrifying in their size and ability to kill the life in the waters that carry them.

    Thank you for the support!
