Orange Coral Mushroom (Clavariaceae) by

Like all mushrooms, this type comes in many color variations and quite a few shapes.

mushroom, coral, fungus, fungi, forest, woods, mothernature

I love nature, science, poetry, prose, art, music – you name it! Now that I’m retired, time is mine to spend as I wish (pretty much), and I wish to take pictures of our natural world.

Bringing the outdoors in for others to see, especially those who may not get the opportunity to wander next to a pond, fish at the beach, or tramp in the woods, is a pleasure. I hope to build a window to the wonders of nature that fill our everyday lives.

what a FABULOUS cluster! oooh so beautiful….to me more so then flowers. what an amazing life-form

  • Mushrooms are more interesting than flowers, I agree! Perhaps because we don’t have to actively seek them out and they surround us everywhere. Fungi, on the other hand, are more secretive. This cluster had amazing color. Your comments really made my day!

What a gorgeous coral!!! I just viewed all of your mushrooms and it looks like we are tramping in the same woods! (do you by any chance live in NY state?)

  • Hi, Rusty,

I enjoyed tramping in your “woods”, too, and love your fungi. We are neighbors; I’m in PA so it would make sense that we see many of the same mushrooms, etc. Some of the pictures are from the Outer Banks and Cape Cod (very different environment from our hardwood forest). I love the pictures we see from all over the world – so amazing in their shapes and colors. Thanks for the nice comment:>)
