Artist's Description

These are smallish plants with a flower that is almost unseeable unless you’re really looking. They are, however, lovely. May seems to be their best month in our area, and although not overwhelmingly common they are easily found if you’re looking in the right place. They like semi-shaded rich woods.

Thank you, Marilyn, for letting me know one of the common names is “Straw Lily” – :>)

These photos were taken May 5, 2013 in a hardwood forest in Green Lane, Pennsylvania, USA. I’m trying to show four different views of the flower.
