Sugar Skull Rosie: we can and do remember our dead!

motherhenna

Vashon Island, United States

Artist's Description

Calaveras, sugar skulls, ofrendas, and colorful florals are very much a part of Day of the Dead celebrations. This altered piece of Rosie the Riveter was created in a digital landscape. It is a celebration for remembering the loved ones who have died; and re-member-ing the pieces our shattered hearts, families, and communities after a grief has come.
