Great shot Joe. I love the fence. I was heading this way a couple of years ago but my car didn’t cope with the 4WD roads.

  • Trust you get to try again Michael:-)

Beautiful shot Joe, wouldn’t it be lovely to spend a few days there!! Is this the restored or the original? Or have I got the wrong place? This looks very peaceful and serene! :)

  • Hi Vicki,
This was rebuilt last year straight after the fires, it is very close to previous version (on page 2 of my portfolio) it had bark on the roof.
That hut had been restored as it had deterior rated over the years since filming. The back side was sheeted off as it was a “movie set” wbut this new version has a rear verandah.
Unlike the other High Country huts,Craigs Hut it was not used by the cattleman for sleep/shelter during muster.

Love this iconic shot! Didn’t this burn down in the bushfires though? Or did they rebuild it?
