( have to confess, as a child we had the old “tar bucket” number down in the back yard…..... thank god it wasn’t a “long drop” as they always terrified me! LOL)
Joe Mortelliti replied
The shot is bringing back memories for people in my family too:-)
Vicki Ferrari
And you even had somewhere to wash your hands! Even better! How spoiled are you Joe?!! ANd I am with Wendy on this! That long drop was a bit scary!! lol!

This is a beauty Joe. Great subject and all the components that constitute a great image is evident here in my eyes.

Peter Hammer
It’s a great find Joe. Where do you park the 4WD and do you still use the dunny?:-)) I hope this is just the neighbour’s block?
Joe Mortelliti replied
Porta Potties have better technology:-)
Darren Stones
A coat of paint (or two) and this would look smashing. Seems the surrounding grass is well fertilised. :)
Joe Mortelliti replied
Are you moonlighting with your brushes:-)
Peter Hammer
I’d be scared to put a brush to much of it Darren as it could make it fall down :-) Long time no hear. How are you these days?
John Kowalski
Ahh! the memories of cold dark long walks in the middle of the night. The pan man and the manditory inspection for spiders before you sat. Love it Joe!!
Joe Mortelliti replied
Good memories John LOL:-)
Philip Golan
Love the dunny Joe.
Joe Mortelliti replied
Thanks for taking a look Philip
Helen Green
Does it come complete with a red back spider?
Joe Mortelliti replied
They are bound to be there Helen:-)
margo
Wonderful piece of Aussie iconic nostalgia Joe – even down to the concrete washtubs and the brick holding the door open. What a photographer’s delight. Where did you find it? That looks like a main road passing the front door.
Joe Mortelliti replied
Thanks margo, it’s in an old mining area not far out of Heatcote Victoria
Paul Moore
magic subject Joe!
Joe Mortelliti replied
Hi Paul,
I’m very pleased to have come across it:-)
Jeff Catford
Everywhere I look in this image I see something that brings back memories. It couldn’t have been taken anywhere else really except in the great Australin Backyard. Just wonderful Joe, thank you.
Joe Mortelliti replied
Thanks Jeff, good thing about memories is that the smell fades:-)
