BigRed
we were there in 2006 on the night it filled up … 3 Inches of rain in a couple of hours trapping us so we had to drive the lake and claypans before it soaked in.
looks like you had much better weather and captured a fantastic image. shane

BigRed,this was 2005, and after doing the Madigan Line in 2006, we went there again and it was bone dry so we camped in the middle of it…must have rained after we left, lucky fore us,not so lucky for you:)
In 2005 no tracks were formed to the lake, we just drove cross country, but in 2006 our tracks had been followed so often that it looked like the track had been formed for years.
Awesome experience, neat to share it with someone else who knows:)

Thanks Darren,
This lake has been seen by very few people, mostly Aboriginals. No track existed to it we made our way to it “cross country” by GPS

The desert is often a place lacking subtlety. Hot days, stark landscape, strong light. But here you’ve presented a gentle image … a soft image … an image of subtlety. You’ve shown me another side to a landscape I generally overlook.
Joe Mortelliti replied
Thanks Peter,we camped beside the lake, and I stepped out of the tent to watch and capture this…do agree such a contrast to the hot day.
