Outdoor Theatre Outback Tibooburra
Outback people do it tough and have a real odd sense of humour. Here in Tibooburra the outdoor theatre is provided with chairs sitting on desert soil, the shadows created caught my eye and I composed this image.

I was lucky enough to see the photos from your big outback trip at Geelong Camera club. They look fantastic here and even better in print.
This is the one that I really remember and love (although I did like them all). It certainly tells a story to me. I grew up in Mildura where it is much hotter than it is here but nowhere as extreme as in the outback, I can feel exactly what it would be like to be sitting in this photo.

Thanks Helen for those positive comments, and pleased my pic drew out those feelongs and memories.

Really love this image… you’ve portrayed the sense of outback humour and toughness so well! I was very amused when I visited Tibooburra and saw their ‘cinema’... great work… : )

Really nice image. i love how you captured the humor in this
Joe Mortelliti replied
Thanks Amy outback people have a great sense of humour.
I have a shot on the Oodnadatta track, some 750km of dirt road, half way out is a giant beach umberalla at the track turnoff to a homestead…nothing else in sight apart from pebbles under a harsh sun.

This is still one of my favorites, Joe.
Joe Mortelliti replied
Thanks Jan,
I also like your choice:-),
An upmarket gallery has selected and planning it for display as a Limited Edition, at $400, so will be interesting to see how it goes,my current redbubble price is half that so I will have to change it once it hanges in the gallery.

I’ve sat on one of those chairs, and will never forget the drive-in there! It’s a classic, I took photos of the screen against the midday sky, haven’t scanned them tho’.
So glad to see this photo, which you have caught so well!

Love the mood, the sense of the heat and dryness. Makes me think the landscape is slowly absorbing the color from the chairs left out there, just a pale green remaining.
Joe Mortelliti replied
Thanks Jan, I like your observations:-)
