We have one of these in our back lawn. Scares the hell out of me, but it does enjoy consuming hundreds of dandelion stems in one sitting. Happy Northern Hairy-Nosed Wombat Day, forsooth. Sent a couple of the cards out to (possibly) interested parties in lieu of Mother’s Day cards. My mother would have enjoyed a Northern Hairy-Nosed Mother of a Wombat’s Day card, but I see she is now flying over the greensward on the Winged Wabbit. She always was easy to please.

  • He was inspired by a little rabbit friend who used to keep me company back when I worked from home. Those days are long gone, and so is the rabbit, but I still remember him fondly. As it happens he could be quite scary. He would bully children and terrorise trespassing cats, but he couldn’t help it – that is what buck bunnies do. Now his buck duties are passed he need be scary no more, so he flies where he pleases eating all the dandelion stems he could wish for.
I will be sure to pass on my share from the purchase of hairy nosed wombat cards to the Wombat Foundation.
    Thanks Sheila :)
