I am very excited to be in the current issue vol. 8 of Catapult Art mag. If you haven’t discovered this new and amazing art magazine yet you are missing out. It has already been featuring some of the most amazing artists in the world, and every single issue is a wonderful mix of established and emerging unknown artists. Many similar art magazines are really hard to get into, but Thena Cartwright, the publisher, has a goal of bringing unknowns some recognition, along with showing more established artists. Please check out the current issue and my work in there, and then go submit for the next issue :0) Catapult vol. 8
Have you heard of Tophatter yet? It is a fairly new live auction site. It is a little bit like Ebay and Etsy combined. It is real easy to use, and has this awesome feature where buyers and sellers can talk to one another in real time as everyone chats in the auction room. It is great if you personally sell prints of your work or small original paintings. I have had some luck there, although some things sell under my retail, many sell more than retail. It is definitely worth looking into if you are looking for a new venue to sell your work.
I just started a new blog where I am going to be featuring a new artist every week. The theme of the blog is featuring artists that are also moms. Each week I will interview a professional artist that is a mother too and explore how they make it work. This first blog is an introduction and I used myself as a guinea pig to show you what you can expect to read on the blog. My first feature will be on the amazing Patricia Ariel next week. Please check out the blog, follow it, and if you are a working artist who is also a mom…send a link to your portfolio to me.
A few weeks ago I started offering these drawings as a sort of commission. They are called Totem spirit drawings and here is a little about them and some samples of what they look like:
These drawings contain a combination of animal and plant spirit guides, archetypal symbols, and higher dimensional energies. Somewhat like a tarot card, these drawings trigger our subconscious mind and our deeper knowing.
I spent many years giving tarot readings both professionally and personally and feel a deep connection to symbolism. I feel that artists often understand the language of archetypal symbols. With these drawings I want to create a sort of road map of your soul, almost like your own personal tarot card.
I work with your full name to uncover many of the symbols and archetypes you work wit…
I have decided to give away an original painting to one of my Facebook fans for Christmas. I painted this painting earlier this year and then decided I didn’t like it at the time. I just pulled it out again and thought someone might actually like to have this. So I am giving it away, for free! All you have to do is become a fan on facebook, then go to the post about the giveaway and write a short poem about the painting. Tell me who you think she is, what her story is. On Sunday Dec.18th I will pick my favorite and mail the writer the painting free of charge….I will even pay the shipping…..even to Australia! So go over now and join my FB fan page and start writing. I can’t wait to read what you come up with.
I am real excited to have about 10 of my works in an exhibit in North Hollywood. The Show opens this Friday at the Rico Adair Gallery. Along with my art there will be works by Red Bubble artist Patricia Ariel, and a few other amazing artists like Russelle Marcato Westbrook. Please check it out if you are in the Los Angeles area.
I am running a sale on my website for one week only. Starting today through 10-18-11, you can buy some of my older original works for 50-60% off the original price. All works are under $200, and most are under $100 USD. This would be a great time to collect some of my original artwork for a cheap price. Check it out at my website: www.moonspiralart.cm.
I was contacted a few weeks back by a talented artist named Russelle Marcato Westbrook. She just recently launched a new website at www.theforgottengoddess.com. The website features her artwork on varying products. The website is meant to empower women and also a portion of the proceeds are given to organizations that are actively involved in preventing domestic violence. I was very honored to be asked to be the first guest artist on this wonderful new site. Please check it out when you can. Here is the link to the guest gallery. Also look back in the future as I will eventually have my artwork on some of their products available on the site.
I was very proud to be a part of this exhibit with such amazing work and an important cause behind it. Hopefully all of us know that everyday should be Earth day and we all need to do all we can to insure the coming generations have a healthy planet to inhabit.
