Lakshmi
18×24 acrylic on canvas
I painted this one for The Divine Feminine’s challenge “Loving Ladies”. This is my favorite goddess of Love, Lakshmi. This is not your traditional painting of Lakshmi, for instance, I didn’t give her 4 arms. But I think it captures her beauty and femininity. Lakshmi is also the goddess of beauty and wealth. She is kind of like the goddess of the law of attraction. In truth, Lakshmi teaches us to accept our beauty and to find true happiness in the realization of the abundance of our soul.

Jim Marshal
tammy wampler… thats your name?? that’s awesome! I did a double take… I thought it said tummy warmer…. maybe you could market the all new tummy warmpler?? lmao…
MoonSpiral replied
Thankyou Jim….for liking the painting….not for making fun of my name…haha. You best be glad I have a twisted sense of humor and am laughing right now. I am off to figure out his Tummy Warmer idea, sounds marketable!!!
Jim Marshal
oh I definitely wasn’t poking fun… seriously I wish I had a name like that, marshal is my pen name… my real name is two syllables (one for the first one for the surname and no middle)... I have always longed for a few extra crazy syllables.
MoonSpiral replied
Oh it is no fun having a wierd long last name that no one can pronounce….I live in the south and everyone pronounces it Whampler….drives me batty!!!
Tahnja
Her pose is especially endearing and feminine. Such a way with pastels you have my dear friend!
Tahnja
oops, I meant acrylics! lol
MoonSpiral replied
Thanks Tahnja….yeah I have been doing more acrylics lately to mix things up….plus breathing all that pastel dust was starting to make me looney.
Sarah ORourke
Beautiful! And that peacock is so striking on the warm background!!!
MoonSpiral replied
Thankyou so much Sarah, yeah the peacock is one of my favorite things in this painting, now I want to paint one with full view of it’s feathers.
AnitaInverarity
Superb!! A wonderful painting, she looks so serene xx
MoonSpiral replied
Thankyou sweetie, funny I could paint something so serene when I got kiddos calling me every 2 minutes to feed them while I am painting….lol.
Sarah ORourke
Ooh that sounds stunning Tammy, i’d love to see the peacock in all it’s feathered glory!!!
MoonSpiral replied
Someday for sure ;)

Barbara Glatzeder
She’s wonderful, love the colours – usually I’m all for lashes, but her eyes are AWESOME ;-)) xx
MoonSpiral replied
funny you should mention the lashes since I wrestled w/ myself to do them or not. I love lashes too, but I always over-exaggerate them and they look goofy half the time. I am glad you like her anyway ;)
Lynsye Medalia
She is very lovely! I love her eyes and the COLORS!! The peacock is fantastic too! I think you should do more in acrylics!
MoonSpiral replied
Thanks Lynsye. i am def. in an acrylic phase right now, tired of breathing chemicals and pastel dust. I have really hated acrylics for a long time because they are just not oil, and I want them to be oil….but I think I am finally getting the hang of how to work with them.
MoonSpiral replied
I just wish I would learn to not paint in my favorite clothes….Do you have any tricks for getting the paint out of clothes (you are probably smart and wear some kind of smock or something…lol).
