Somewhere in Time (Poetry) by

Poetry featured in the book of poetry called ‘The Forsaken Muse, A Woman’s Journey from Sorrow to Hope’

Dedicated to all the beautiful women (and lovely men who understand:-))

By the way, lots of men have said this poem also applies to them…of course, of course. :-)

Somewhere in time
There was a woman
Who waited and hoped and loved.
Sitting by the train station
Waiting for the man who promised
he will come back.

She never got tired, she waited long,
Until one day she realised
she has a life of her own.
“I deserve to be loved, respected and cared for,
I will search for someone, I’m sure.”
It was so long ago and so far away
This story that I’m telling you now.
Somewhere in time,
do you think she found someone?

From an old book I read, this was what she said-
“I am a woman racing against time
I searched far and wide for ‘someone.’
Thank God I found love and meaning and grace
And never lost it again to time and space…..
People say impossible, how could it be?
I say yes, it is possible to be free.
*The ‘someone’ that I found was ‘me’.”*

“Woman must come of age by herself – she must find her true center alone. More than anyone, she is her very own soulmate ".

  • Hi Sally, thanks for your comment, you’re a kindred spirit. I read your work The Fading Woman which reminded me of my work called ‘The Forsaken Muse’ on my homepage. It’s nice to know I share some similar passion with a great woman like you. xxx

This is true of us all…man and woman alike! ….. Once we understand this and cease to place the responsibility for our happiness on the people we love, and who love us…in their fashion… we can be truly free to love and live our lives passionately and without blame……. Poignant image… beautiful truth! x

  • Hey my friend, thanks…you always get it, and more:-) The image was supposed to be my grandma’s time:-) She was a wise woman.
