Brilliant work!

You know I adore the many shots in your portfolio which memorialize the decay which attaches to buildings once beautiful in their pristine condition, and, after years of neglect, possessed of a very different type of beauty, such as is expressed in the Japanese aesthetic referred to as “Wabi” or “Sabi” (Wabi-Sabi as inter-connected and complementary concepts). Your choice of B/W is inspired (you seem to possess an innate appreciation/talent for deciding when any given shot should be rendered in color, B/W, Sepia, selectice color, and so on). This series of contiguous rooms is referred to here in the States as a ‘railroad flat’, an architectural style which has several rooms connected not by a corridor with independent doors into them, but rather one with doors which lead from room to room. You capitalized on this by framing it so perfectly I find it breath taking. Clearly a counterpoint to, e.g. your photo “Ghost House” (rendered, in color, IMO, a perfect choice for that shot), this one distances itself from the absolute purity of the Wabi-Sabi ideal as expressed in Ghost House, with its capture of the mundane trash which intrudes on the otherwise beautiful aspect of ‘genteel poverty/neglect’, introducing a kind of aesthetic dissonance which is mildly disconcerting on a subliminal level. An extremely sophisticated rendering which is absolutely compelling and beautiful. Major Kudos Mojca on yet another beauty.
