Precisely what Anne said. If you’re familiar with the body of Mojca’s work, as I am, among her repertoire of photographic skills, her “eye”, imo, transcends all. The composition is quite literally perfect. The subject of the portrait manages to be the focal point within the frame, but without seeming to demand this, as if it were merely fortuitous. But of course it wasn’t. The observed, the observer, and the emerging image on the canvass conspire, as if by an act of will, a perfection of sorts is achieved. It also works as a type of story telling, for within a single frame frozen by the camera, that collection of ’moments – the approach, the negotiation, the transaction of creating – are so effortlessly imagined.
