It’s been a long time since I walked in the Sun,
Suffering in a torrid moonlight for too long unsung!
Sitting idle in caves looking out to the red night,
Martian winds blow away my secrets in highlights!
Watching moonbeams caught in the stalactites,
Wedged in the forks of stalagmites!
Impertinent dingbats would hang like vampires boned,
How in hell had I been so long doggone stoned!
Crafts would sometimes drift along the dry ocean floor,
Voyages in aqualung can be instant hardcore!
Through metaphysical jungles of killer love weeds,
With fruits of deadly nightshades in succulent varieties!
Spread your palm to a bushel of my freshly picked raven hairs,
A plethora in my night garden of Venusian glow wares!
Am I conceited?
Am I defeated?
In a ruined fortress of love!
Where Harpies circle over dead cherubs above,
Where are my western promises of eastern virtues?
But my earthly senses are drowned in Martian perfumes!
My love is of a different world…
