Yes Ding Dong the witch is dead, the witch is dead.. Yet another despot is hunted down and killed but are we any better when we rejoice in theirdemise?
Colonel Muammar Gadaffi’s death caught on video
moonlightlover gadaffi despot brutal demise
hatred and mass hysteria are powerful combinationto rejoice in anyones death is inhumanebut sadly seems to be popular to some folk
questioning as ever annie,
Hello Charlie, I thought I was the only one who felt this way but I never understood revenge and why should anyone rejoice in someone’s murder. Well it is murder whether it is an evil despot, a child or an animal.
Death brings out the crows flocking to a feeding, the morbid fascination with that which is not thought of as their own time coming… but the misfortune of someone else. There is pretentiousness in everything about all mankind ever does, not just relegated to art, even when contempt shows up with a disclaimer and features a video to emphasize a point.
I’m morbidly fascinated by death as much as anyone unfortunately but I do question myself and others about it. I guess we are not too far removed from the spectators in the colleseum in ancient Rome or the youth inspired by Hilter’s rhetoric.
Russell stole my thunder and put it quite eloquently too but I also want to add that the death of a tyrant does not mean a new beginning but a long road to another death and the rise of another monster which a reflection of us all.
Hey sweet Jovan – : ) I know you feel just as strongly about this and I do agree that society will invariably spur another monster and the vicious cycle starts all over again.
my opinion: because people disconnect from the personal aspect. perhaps misplaced, misdirected hope in a new freedom.btw welcome back Sweetie!!xx. nice new avatar 2.
Thank you Yvonca. You look beautiful as ever! I’m only back for a short while and then I’m off to Greece. Staying with my aunt in Lisbon right now. And totally agree with what you’re saying about misdirected hope. Much love Annie Z xoxo
very nice to least get my Annie fix to tide me over for a while. !! Enjoy your grand adventure and thanks for letting me know. :))xx
Lol! Glad you got a shot of my moonshine Yvonca, my cuz Belle was holding the fort for me but I’ll be back hopefully for another appearance before the end of next month : – )
It didn’t make me happy or feel like rejoicing, I would hope it didn’t it make any of US feel this way. Or is it a question and statement just for Libyans? WE didn’t live under the rule of that man for 40 odd years. I can only imagine what RELIEF the majority of Libyans feel, now he is dead. Happy and Rejoice are words you use but I will mention that all too Human trait, the emotive phrase Revenge is Sweet!Only those who managed to survive that evil regime, will really know if that is true?
Hello Rob, missed RB so this was a good enough excuse to post something and make my feeling known. I am no way a fan or in sympathy of the Colonel and this not directed at the Libyans who have been oppressed by a brutal regime however I am simply making a statement that rejoicing in anyone’s death is simply bad karma and abhorent to say the least, murder is murder whether it is sanctioned by a state, a religion or a judicator.
Hello Annie, good to read you again.Your statement has a question mark after it, therfore you are really asking a question. If it’s not directed at the people in question i.e. the Libyans, maybe you are asking the question to yourself or indeed the whole world and if the latter, that would include the Libyans.I am sure they know about bad karma as we all should after all it’s bad karma that’s destroying this world. I neither condemn or condone, the actions of those people, who rejoiced in exacting their revenge on Gadaffi. Ater all, didn’t Jesus say ‘forgive them Father, for they know not what they do’ It’s not for mere mortals like us to forgive but can try to understand them.
I came to the end of the sentence and I thought no, question mark instead of a full stop changes the whole statement quite dramatically. I’m questioning everyone including the Libyans and myself and the rest of the world.
Humanity are a sad lot.
The name Humanity is a misnomer.
If happy is to relief as fear is to repression… then when will we stop pushing the “hate crime bills,” something that would claim it is good… to stop hate, a happy little “legal mask for the love-of-hate-to-allow-you-to-speak-of-what-you-love… a form of increased repression and offers no relief to be happy over.” Just a thought!
Mmmm! A interesting random thought. There are those who love to hate and those who are hated just love to be hated. I think they are called public servants.
it seems to be human nature to kill and rejoice in doing so. Since the beginning of time we have faught each other and the winner is happy. Me I spent time in war during the Viet Nam war and killing is not something I rejoiced in. If i was happy it was only because I survived. what has happen yesterday is (as charlie the tramp says) hatred and mass hysteria and yes that is powerful and what is worse it seems to becomming common
Life is becoming a cheap commodity and so it becomes expendable. Well said and I totally agree with you Mark.
