Once upon a time, this abandoned Canadian National Railway building must have been bustling. Alone, and deteriorating, it sits by the bicycle path along the the Lachine Canal in Montreal.

Rock and football photographer at heart, I love the excitement and pressure of the action.
Started shooting seriously back in ‘98 when my lens had the privilege to meet the music of Shane MacGowan head on. It gave me direction, self-confidence, and a means of expression. Many concerts later, I had the opportunity to shoot something completely different – football (soccer). I now have two addictions. :)) It’s the faces, the expressions, I seek… the atmosphere.

Great capture, The B&W treatment really adds to the image. Well done.

  • Thank you Gene, I really appreciate you commenting. I thought the B&W was appropriate for this one because of it’s rustic/grungy setting.

I’ve seen this spot a few times and have tried to photograph it myself…you have done it justice, created a great composition.
    Well done.

  • Russ, I really appreciate your comment. It’s a great spot, isn’t it? They should convert this to a hostel for cyclists. :)

i had a horrible bike accident not far from there 15 years ago. Mention of the canal always brings back memories. used to zip passed that building ever day.
Great shot. Very much enjoy how the chem-trail line in the sky comes off perfectly with the angle of the roof.

  • Excuse my tardiness, but catching up with comments. So sorry to hear about your accident… I hope you recovered fully. Montreal certainly has great places to cycle, both for recreation and for getting around the city.
Thanks so much for your comment. :)
