Hurricane Sandy destroyed the Ocean City Maryland Fishing Pier. This historic OC landmark was first built in 1907.

Ninth Street Fishing Pier 9th Street
Ocean City, MD 21842

Ninth Street Fishing Pier in Ocean City Maryland is perfect for those who love to fish. Located between Ninth Street and the bay, its a well-maintained pier with fish-cleaning tables equipped with hoses for easy clean-up. The Ninth Street Fishing Pier is an ideal getaway for even the most discerning fishermen.

The Ocean City Pier first opened in 1907. Its amusement pavilion had a long arched roof with large, round-arched windows lighting the first and second floors. It contained a dancing pavilion, a barber shop, a novelty store, a movie theater, a photo studio, a skating rink, bowling alleys, a pool room and refreshment booths. The Pier building collapsed under snow and ice in 1918. It was quickly rebuilt, only to completely burn down in 1925. By 1929 it was replaced by a new fishing pier and the Pier club for dancing.

Photographed with a Nikon D90 and a Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 14-24mm f/2.8G ED Lens.

The simple realization that time lost is lost forever, is one I find utterly frightening.

Great photography is ultimately not about cameras; great photography is about great photographs.

A great photographer is a person who makes great photographs, not necessarily a person who owns a great camera or lens.
