A Native Montanan, I grew up in a family that homesteaded on the Rocky Mountain Front, near Dupuyer, Montana. I farmed and ranched most of my life.
My husband Robert and I now live at Vaughn, Mt. on two acres. He’s a cowboy poet and sometimes we combine our work.
Work was all important on the ranch, so it’s a great luxury and privilege for me, to have the time now, to take all the photos I want! I’m obsessed with my camera and the images it can capture.
While realizing I have a lot to learn, I go out and take photos, like I know what I’m doing. Lol. When things don’t turn out, or I can’t get my camera to do what I want, I study tutorials online and ask for help from friends.
I use a Nikon D300 and sometimes my old Canon 10D. My favorite lens, is the 70-300 mm Tamron. I have other lenses and sometimes I use them, one of which is a Sigma 500 mm.
All in all, what I love, is the scenery, abstract images, and animals that I find around me. I’d like to capture a little slice of Montana, as it is today, with a few wide open spaces left, and plenty of wildlife right outside my door!
