Eagle on the Rocks

I took this photo of a golden eagle, when he was sitting on a guard rail near Ovando, Montana. I added a layer of texture from a photo I’d taken of a lichen covered rock. I erased the eagle from the layer of texture.

Even though the eagle is looking straight out of the picture plane, I think this works, because of the texture on the rock behind him, and how the intricacies in the rock, draw your eye to the right side. =====================
Photos taken with a Canon10D and a Nikon D300, 70-300 mm lenses on each.
