Intense Gaze
This is a photo I took of a sled dog at Polebridge, Montana. He had the most intense eyes. We were there to watch the Montana Ididarod.

I think this is a truly amazing shot that you have taken….Those wonderful eyes ..Mp

Thank you Maggie, I really enjoyed seeing them in person.

Gorgeous, i have a husky and its all about their eyes; no other dog comes close to hinting at those depths and intensity- there’s other world’s under that surface! I also love that this is a working dog’s portrait, beautifully done!
Donna Ridgway
Hi EchoNorth,
It was my first time to see the dogs pulling sleds. It was awesome. I’m uploading more throughout today.

BEAUTIFUL IMAGE. I JUST RECENTLY PURCHASED A 75% SIBERIAN HUSKY, 25% TIMBER WOLF, MALE. I GOT “CHEWBACCA” ON APRIL 24, 2008 AT THE AGE OF 8 WEEKS. HE IS GROWING VERY QUICKLY INTO A BEAUTIFUL HYBRID. I’VE HAD FOUR HIGH CONTENT HYBRIDS SINCE 1977, I MISS THEM. CHEWY, AS I CALL HIM, HAS A BROWN RIGHT EYE AND HIS LEFT EYE IS BROWN ON TOP, GREY ON THE SIDES AND BLUE ON THE BOTTOM. WHEN I TAKE A PHOTO OF HIM ON THE LEFT SIDE, THAT BLUE JUST POPS OUT IN THE PHOTO. BOB
Donna Ridgway
Hi Bob,
Your Chewbacca sounds beautiful! I bet he’s incredibly intelligent also. We don’t have a dog right now, I miss them. I used to like having a border collie and a lab. They’re so smart, and they tease each other constantly. Their games kept me entertained better than the movies!

thanks Stacey!

Aloha Donna, this is a beautiful image! I love the sled dog races. I watched and photographed the start of the Yukon Quest 1000 Mile International Sled Dog Race in Fairbanks Alaska a couple of years ago and it is a sensational event.

Thank you for the feature in this group! It was so interesting to learn a bit about the dog races, I had no idea how they took place until we went to Polebridge…
