Ck1TheGreat, In Australia there’s an exemption to the Copyright laws that allows for parody and satire. It allows you to use part of someone’s elses work in a parody or for satirical purposes. In this case I’m parodying Roger Hargreaves work and as part of this parody I have used elements of the original work (redrawn by myself) I’m no expert, but I think there may be a similar provision in the US? Does anybody else know?

Yeah i think the parody laws exist in America too. It’s under “fair use” and that pesky 1st ammendment which us Aussie’s don’t get.

It’s worth reinforcing the term PARODY there. You can reference for parody and criticism but you can’t reference just cause it’s a cool character. I think there’s also some cavett that says that the viewer has to be able to identify it as such (eg. not a legitimate image from the franchise or something people could take seriously) otherwise you’re trading off their reputation.
