Home - The graze period is over

These bovines have had their grace for the day; a day spent grazing peacefully under the warmth of the Sun. It is time to go home now; darkness would soon reclaim its place.

Our life too is a grace, and one day our days of grace would come to an end; the time presented to us to graze around: our days under the sun. The sooner we realize life’s ephemeral nature and treasure this gift given to us, and treasure this same gift in others too, like we treasure ours, we open ourselves up to experience the sacred, right here on earth — our temporary abode — until we are called to rest in our final home. Prayers and offerings — all attempts at purchasing favors with a divine —cannot accompany us, or reach us, not having observed this, to merit from them. However grand the function to delude oneself! Only a sacred closely acquainted with, is familiar enough with us, to be with us!

The two adult bovines placing the young between them, reminds me of the same love, care and protection, we give our own. The same parental instinct of offspring preservation. The two young ones safe and secure between these caring ‘flanks’; “You love yours, we love ours too! “. And these offspring need their parents too! How would your children react, if suddenly, some people walk in with a rope in their hand, and walk out with you struggling and protesting at the end of it? How would any child or family feel when a parent or member is taken, not to be seen or heard thereafter; or worse, found dead later. (One also wonders which is worse, the agony of the ‘wait’:not knowing their fate; or the end of an ordeal: finding them dead.)

A simple realization that sadly needs repeating — being enclosed within our own little world of attachments, comfort, security and survival. The same neglect of the simple understanding that “Others too seek to be happy as we do”, not being realized individually by many.
