The wayfarer fares along
seeks no one for company.
He politely declines
those who offer him a lift,
In silence
to seek answers
to questions he has;
to observe the crowd
within his mind.

He has no
set destination in sight,
to hasten
and lose sight
of the beauty of the path.
The discovery is made
walking the path;
each step placed
unfolding the journey,
to quietly reflect
on his OWN NATURE,
the answers whispered
through the abundance around.

What inspires me is the feeling or emotion we are able to capture and convey either through words, an image, or both.The ‘pictures’ we evoke more than the seen. They would better communicate who, what, or where I am now. It is through them that we are ultimately going to “see’ each other. It is through them that we may connect. I look forward to the connection.

  • No it is about 6-7 hours away from where I live currently. When this was taken, in 2010, I was renting a house in the mountains. I used to go there for 10 days at a time, alone, just to experience the silence, and observe my own mind. :)) And I should say these walks were an “awakening” itself, with a mind more attuned to it. Thank you so much Bonita for the lively sprinklings and comment!! Hugs

    Walking like this is like a meditative pilgrimage Ramesh. There is no external destination, only that within. Another amazing work!

  • Absolutely Constance!! :)) Though born a Hindu, I started following the Buddhist path subsequently because of its emphasis on the mind, and the “not-self” teaching. In 2010 I rented a house in the mountains for 6 months, away from the noise & crowd of the city/society, just to observe my mind in that silence & solitude; and to strengthen my ‘mindfulness’ in the process. To observe the arising of consciousness itself with each thought or sense impression . And these walks were indeed “meditative pilgrimages”; to help journey further into the inner recesses of the mind. Most of my writings & captures are reflections of/from that period. Thank you so much Constance!! Appreciate very much your own wonderful connection, insight & reflection on this!! :)
