“…Truth, which is inexpressible and unthinkable, because the moment it is expressed and thought about—in other words named, classified and verbalized— it is no longer truth but a secondary thing of space and time. It is essential, therefore, to see that such a realization is more in the nature of an opening up, a clearing away of impediments, of that which is in time—that truth has always been with us and yet does not belong to you or me; in fact, it is the centre of the ‘me’ which—through its incessant activities—has prevented me from realizing.

We can now see that there is no path towards reality, truth, and hence that no guru can lead us. A guru can only lead you from the known to the known— and for the known to come to an end only your own being is involved. For the mind, which is the known, and the product of the past, of time, to dissolve is the very opposite process. It means the cessation of all seeking, all thought, all the mind’s activities in the nature of clinging or grasping directed at self-assertion or spiritual gain. This happens—not by discipline, not by repression, not by choice—but spontaneously once the mind has understood the nature of its own activities, realized its own futility. When the mind sees that its inherent sickness is itself, it quietens, it shuts up—suddenly and without any forewarning or intimation. Thus uninvited that which is not of the mind, not of time, that which is real comes into being— not by a process of becoming, but by being what is. "

Zen And Reality – by Robert Powell

Country: Sri Lanka

“To silence & solitude.”

What inspires me is the feeling or emotion we are able to capture and convey either through words, an image, or both. The ‘pictures’ we evoke more than the seen. They would better communicate who, what, or where I am now. It is through them that we are ultimately going to “see’ each other. It is through them that we may connect. I look forward to the connection.

WOW. That description absolutely blew me away. The day I reach this awesome level of non thought, and just let everything in its immense beauty be without thinking of it, just feeling it, understanding it within myself, I will change forever. But, will it ever happen. You make me think and wonder and this is good. I love your posts. BEAUTIFUL IMAGE!!!
    Hugs! xoxoxoxxoxoxoxoxox

  • The immensity, both in beauty and silence, of such places do leave one thoughtless or towards the attainment of it. A spontaneous “uncovering” through the cessation of mental activity. “and just let everything in its immense beauty be without thinking of it..” reflects your AMAZING grasp of it. Thank you SO much Shar!! I see it already happening :)) Hugs xoxoxoxoxoxo

HOW MUCH BEAUTIFUL COMBINATION OF COLORS THE SPLENDID NATURE HAS CREATED…A GREAT SENSE OF DEPTH… AS YOUR DESCRIPTION ,THAT TAKES YOU AT THINK ABOUT HOW MANY THINGS WE HAVE TO LEARN
  • Thank you so much my friend!! Learn to be finally free of them, or go beyond them, to experience truth or reality. Because truth, just is , free of all forms of “conditioning”. All “conditioning” would take us further away from truth. Appreciate very much your thoughts as always Anna!! :)
