Walking in the Park with Eloise... by George Parapadakis (monocotylidono)

Out came the sun and out came my Infrared camera too… I was taking pictures of lake reflections and reeds by Caldecotte Lake (Milton Keynes, UK) but I couldn’t resist snapping this couple just strolling along enjoying the sunshine :-)

[Konica-Minolta 5D (720nm infrared conversion); Sigma 17-70@35mm; f:5.1, 1/100sec, ISO-100; LR3]

My grandfather was a serious amateur photographer in the ’20s and ’30s, leaving me a legacy of stereoscopic pictures and equipment. The bug passed through the genes to my father and to me. I started taking pictures seriously when I was 11 and I spent most of my teenage years in and out of the darkroom. University, work and kids put photography on pause but my first digital camera in 2006 re-kindled my interest. RB has given me a vehicle for sharing my work and for learning so much.

Forget the IR part part for now (as that always excites me) – this is a fantastic composition. Just love that path flowing through the frame – AND that you’ve got them perfectly positioned (a few secs earlier or later might not have had the same impact).
Great to see you back uploading pics George!

  • Thanks Vik, I’ve missed bring here too! Hoping to catch up a bit this week. As for the composition it was very much a case of right place right time. I was already playing with the path curve, when they walked throu my frame. Who am I to complain? LoL

I like the square crop, and … that just looks SO crazy, all inverted and stuff (hehe the kids and I tried the 3D goggles the other day and whoa, that was something else too! We all liked your images best btw but don’t tell) x

  • OMG! You remembered? I’m glad the kids liked it. Now go read the tutorial and do a couple yourself. they are dead easy! Many thanks for favoring this one, much appreciated! :-) P.S. Not inverted at all, just Infrared!
