Blood Stream
A piercing cough –
Stifled, choked.
Gush of reds,
Delight of blacks.
A clotted knot –
Sorrowed, scarred.
Stigmatic clouds,
Mourning skies.
A broken back –
Adrift, the Tay.
Blood stream,
To the sea.

A slightly different style of shot to my usual work, wanted it to be quite dark, moody and grainy with just a slight hint of colour remaining to work with the poem theme.

The sea looks like an icefield…
Donald Cameron replied
Funny that the warm tones give across a feeling of ice, good to hear your take on it.

Hi Donald the poem is good the image is better, I love threat of a coming storm and thinking what is that boat doing there yes I like the darkness very moody and brooding
Donald Cameron replied
Was tricky getting the balance in the lighting right, glad you think it’s on the right lines. In the past I’d likely have ignored the shot due to the boat being motion blurred, but it seems to fit the mood of the image. Thanks for your feedback.

Got a sense of Scott in Antarctica from both the words and the image, great work as usual
Donald Cameron replied
You’re sharper than me, I’d not actually thought of him when creating this, but it is an obvious link given that the Discovery is docked only a few minutes up the river from here.
In actual fact the Discovery would be a good subject to photograph, can’t think why it’s not crossed my mind before! Might give that a try at the weekend…

This is superb, the sky is so dramatic which contrasts nicely with the textures of the water. It has a poetic quality which i think is made by the motion blur of the boat, as though it is telling a story….
Donald Cameron replied
I do like the effect of a motion blurred boat, almost as if someone’s picked up the photograph and given it a shake :)
