The Quivering Shore
Death-like sparks burn cold and hard
A symphony of sea salt soldiers
Shaping their invasion on awaiting land
Leaping from splashes
Grasping for oxygen
A rush to do battle come the day, come the time
Roaring to shore in spectacular voice
To crush the life from a million weeping pebbles
As they pray for forgiveness
Down on bended knee
Begging for second chances
And all the while
Eyes peer from deep forbidden sea
For a slender gaze at the battle afoot
Gossiping like fishwives over sips of milky tea
As they twitch through heavy net curtains
And tut tut tut at the youth of today
Then scuttle away
Chasing the tails of those who fled first
As the wounded and fallen lay still behind
Time to draw a new breath whilst plans are redrawn
And commence another charge toward the quivering shore

Rule of thirds so effortlessly presented, and such breathtaking mood portrayed! Really terrific!
Donald Cameron replied
I rarely pay much attention to photography “rules” but yes I guess it does fit the rule of thirds pretty well. Thanks!

think you need to look at Blurb again and put the words and images into print, this a wonderfully atmospheric and spiritual shot
Donald Cameron replied
Yes blurb is an option, but I think long-term I’d rather wait til I had enough good work to try and get properly published. That’s the ambition anyway.

Donald you’ve exceeded yourself with beautiful image it’s so good, I can almost feel my feet twisting like when you walk over the stones and i can almost here the sound. wonderful image and words
Donald Cameron replied
Your description of twisting feet is spot on, a couple of times walking along here the stones gave way under my feet and had to quickly stop myself falling over. It’s exhausting walking along this sort of pebbled beach!
