One of our favorite local pubs is Gasoline Alley in Niles, Ohio (USA), where the wings and burgers are about the best anywhere. As might be expected, the decor follows an automotive (specifically gasoline) theme. Over each booth is an old-time lamp like this one. Interestingly, I found one for sale online on “sale” for $269.95 – originally $324.95. Quite the bargain, I guess, but I passed. Citgo, the parent company, began drilling in Oklahoma in 1925, I learned at the Citgo website. Taken with a Canon PowerShot SD4500, 1/60, f/4.

I’m a semi-retired newspaper editor/writer who loves photography, especially flower macros, lighthouses, old mills and covered bridges.

So many interesting stories about finds like this. Love the name of the pub! Nice work!

  • It’s a very laid-back local hangout the old fogies love during the day and the rockers at night (guess when we go these days)? Thanks!

Great-looking sign and capture Monnie ~ the pub sounds inviting!

  • Fun place – there have to be at least eight more lights like this one plus dozens of old license plates all over the walls.
